Become a member/organizational partner

We are a community-based organization that is headed and driven primarily by volunteers. RECDO’s work would not be possible without its steady membership and volunteer base of over 2,000 dedicated individuals. As a grassroots organization, RECDO owes much of success to the support rendered by its institutional partners that have collaborated with us over the years, on a diverse number of projects. As a member you will receive all bulletins and publications that we produce via e-mail. You will also be invited to our Annual General Meeting and be supported to get involved in RECDO’s work more actively, if you wish.

Volunteer with us:

You may choose to volunteer in any way that you please. As a RECDO volunteer you are not required to be based in the Trincomalee District or in Sri Lanka Lankafor that matter. There are numerous ways of getting involved in our community work, and every bit of support counts. Our homepage news bulletin will be regularly updated for volunteering opportunities. We also welcome international volunteers from other countries who have an active interest in rural community building work. RECDO is also looking out for volunteers to help with other support work on a needs basis- whether it is assistance in proposal writing or editing monthly reports, maintaining our website or photographing/filming at our activities and events.

Help fund our work:

As a non-profit CBO we rely on donations from governments, trusts, foundations, corporates and individuals. Unless you would like to donate to a specific project, we would also be happy to advise on any planned initiatives for which we seek funding. Please e-mail or drop us a note via our contact form.
