RAINBOW serves 40 orphaned children ranging from the age of 6 until they enter university, by providing educational assistance together with meals and financial aid for healthcare. To prevent children being sent into orphanages by their immediate and extended families, the programme supports caregivers financially – by donating Rs 4,850 (or USD 40) a month to each orphaned child. During the first year, the project assists with the purchase of school uniforms, bags, books and shoes.<\/p>\n
